Sinking Spells
Sinking spells—we’ve all had them. Those times when we’ve felt the pressures of life weigh so heavily on us from all sides that we feel like we are sinking. Paul had those feelings about the gospel at times.
Sometimes we even talk about churches being “sinking ships.” Paul blames these sinking spells on “the enemy.” While Paul may have been literally referring to Satan, what are some of the “enemies” threatening communities of faith today? Can we stop this sinking? If so, how?

Rev. Dr. Danny Spears
Rev. Danny is a spiritual traveler whose journey began in Pentecostalism and continued through what is sometimes called “Progressive Christianity.” Ordained and licensed as a Minister in Metropolitan Community Churches since 2001, he has been a student of Unity and New Thought teachings since 2015 and was ordained as a Unity Minister in 2024. Rev. Danny also holds Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Rev. Danny is stepfather to 3 children, grandfather to 5 grandchildren and 5 granddogs and grandcats. He shares his Canton, GA home with Dylan, his 16 year-old "kitten."
